The Subsequent 37 CVs mixer now has double the headroom of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition. Read next: Moog are the music makers: Inside the small town factory that builds the world’s best-loved synths Moog Subsequent 37 CV, Analog Synthesizer. Gioto coming April 13,2022 The Moog Sub 37 is a classic synthesizer, and just like the Fender Stratocaster in the guitar world, it is almost ubiquitously. It features an exclusive white badge and presets made by S U R V I V E, Simian Mobile Disco, 808 State, Syrinx and Zola Jesus. The first run of the Subsequent 37 CV is billed as the “Moogfest Edition”. Subsequent 37 CV will be limited to just 2000 pieces worldwide, with the first 125 available exclusively from Guitar Center and at the Moog Pop-Up Factory during this year’s Moogfest. The new synth also features an upgraded keybed that Moog claims offers “improved playability” together with increased headroom in the mixer section and a modified analog signal path.

While the Subsequent 37 CV features a silver case instead of the Sub 37’s black finish, the real difference lies in the added connections: four assignable CV outputs and two assignable gate outputs for plugging in large format and Eurorack modular systems. However, the new model has been designed with modular synth owners in mind. The new synth is a redesign of the redesign of Moog’s Sub 37 Tribute Edition, a paraphonic analog synthesizer that was released back in 2014.

Moog has introduced a limited edition new synth ahead of this year’s Moogfest: the Subsequent 37 CV, which features presets made by S U R V I V E and 808 State. The synth inherits many of the qualities of the Sub Phatty, and offers the classic Moog Ladder filter, a full analog signal path, a re-tuned multidrive. High-power headphone amp – makes it easier to cue up sounds in loud of venues. It’s also designed to connect to your modular synth.Upgraded keybed – lightweight with swift action, velocity and aftertouch.6 assignable outputs – modular connectivity with 4x cv outs and 2x gate outs.Room for two – more headroom means duo mode sounds better.More multidrive – wider range and dirtier than ever before.Sound engine evolution – greater sonic dimension. Finally, the Multidrive circuit has been updated to extend beyond ‘the grit and growl of the original Sub 37’. The gain-staging of the Ladder filter has also been reshaped to boost harmonic saturation and analog compression. Moog Subsequent 37: the Ultimate Monosynth The Subsequent 37 is, in many respects, Moogs most sophisticated monosynth to date. The Subsequent 37 CV’s mixer now has double the headroom of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition.

The Moog Subsequent 37 CV offers four assignable CV outputs and two assignable Gate outputs for interconnectivity with large-format and Eurorack modular systems, an upgraded keybed for improved playability, a high-powered headphone amplifier, and a modified analog signal path.

Adding CV interconnectivity was the starting point,” says Moog Chief Engineer Cyril Lance, “but we have also increased the headroom in the mixer and significantly extended the range of Multidrive, giving the Subsequent 37 CV expanded sonic capability and modular control.” “We are really excited to incorporate community feedback into the evolution of an instrument. For example in the track Pathway, the lead line has been played live.

Moog Music today announced the Subsequent 37 CV, a variant of the Sub 37 that adds new assignable control voltage patch points for modular connectivity, an improved keybed and an updated mixer. Despite working mainly with electronic music, Eric prioritises a live feel to his tracks.
